Welcome.......
Msgr. Peter Baldacchino, Chancellor
Msgr. Peter Baldacchino, Chancellor

to our website for the Roman Catholic Church in the Turks & Caicos Islands. This Mission was established before 1983, and since 1998 has been served by priests of the Archdiocese of Newark in New Jersey. The ecclesiastical superior for this Mission is the Most Reverend John J. Myers, Archbishop of Newark. Our Mission has been established to bring the Word of God to more than 5000 Catholics living in the islands.

The Mission is composed of people from numerous nationalities; European, American, Canadian, Haitian, South American and from the Philippines. Today Masses and other services are conducted in English, Spanish and Creole.

Establishing a Catholic presence on the major islands has been our first priority. There are two parishes, one on Grand Turk and other in Providenciales. In August 2006 Providenciales opened the first Catholic School in the Islands: Holy Family Academy.

Enjoy our website and discover the flourishing of the Mission in each of the major islands.

Our challenges are many. The Mission is composed people of numerous nationalities; European, American, Canadian, Haitian, South American and from the Philippines. Today Masses and other services are conducted in English, Spanish and Creole. Until 1998, there were no full-time priests in the islands, so Catholics are generally considered to be in the minority compared to other religious denominations. Establishing a presence on the major islands has been our first priority and we have quickly realized that education, both religious and secular, need to be next on the list. Within this website you can see the progress in each of the major islands.
